The England National Selectors on Thursday named a 16-strong squad and 6 travelling reserves for the primary and second Test matches towards India. The first Test of the sequence begins on February 5 (Friday) at MA Chidambaram Stadium, Chennai.

Jofra Archer, Rory Burns and Ben Stokes return to the squad. Archer and Stokes had been rested for the Sri Lanka sequence and Burns was at house for the delivery of his first baby.
Surrey’s Ollie Pope will journey to India and will be added to the squad when handed match. Pope is recovering from a shoulder damage sustained in September throughout the Test sequence towards Pakistan.
The National Selectors have supplied a block of relaxation for Jonathan Bairstow, Sam Curran and Mark Wood. The three gamers, who’re at present in Sri Lanka, will miss the primary and second Tests in India.
