‘Hiccups & Hookups’ sequence review

Vasudha Rao (Lara Dutta), a 39-year previous single mom resides with her teenage daughter Kay aka Kavanya Khatter (Shinnova) at her commitment-phobic youthful brother Akhil Rao’s (Prateik Babbar) dwelling. The sequence explores sexual escapades of Vasudha, Kay, and Akhil because the three of the them deal with their romantic relationships with completely different people.

After being cheated on and lately divorced, Vasudha is aiming to get again within the courting sport by means of ‘Kechup’, the courting app based by her brother. Encouraged by her brother and her buddy Fatty aka Fatima (essayed by Priyanka Chopra and Parineeti Chopra’s cousin Meera Chopra), Vasudha’s seek for informal intercourse results in loopy adventures. Meanwhile, her rebellious daughter Kay is confused in her courting life and Akhil is struggling to start out a gradual relationship.

What stands out in all the sequence is the sibling relationship shared between Prateik Babbar and Lara Dutta’s characters. Their unfiltered talks about courting and informal intercourse are the spotlight of this comedy drama. Set in Bengaluru, the sequence tries to advertise wholesome discussions on intercourse and relationships, the hush-hush subjects within the Indian households. 

The sequence is helmed by Kunal Kohli who has earlier directed profitable romantic dramas similar to ‘Hum Tum’ and ‘Fanaa’. Lara Dutta and Prateik Babbar are good because the sister-brother duo and match every other nicely. Shinnova as Kay impresses in her debut. Mukesh Chhabra, standard casting director who has solid for the sequence as nicely, provides the humour within the present as Lara’s boss. Indira Bisht’s writing is efficient and layered. Sneha Khanwalkar, who has composed for movies like ‘Gangs of Wasseypur’ and ‘Oye Lucky! Lucky Oye’ is implausible because the music director for the sequence.

Lionsgate Play’s first Indian authentic is a heartwarming story centered on modern-day courting and relationships throughout two generations. ‘Hiccups & Hookups’ begins streaming on the Lionsgate Play platform from November 26.
