Massive web outage disrupts web sites in U.S., Canada and Europe

DNS stands for Domain Names System, which broadly talking is how Internet Protocol or IP addresses learn by computer systems, get translated into phrases that will be learn by people.

“We are aware of an emerging issue with the Edge DNS service,” Akamai stated on its web site.
